We are currently accepting applications for Educational Assistant. Under the direction and the supervision of the Principal and in consultation with the Learning Resource Teacher (LRT) and classroom teacher, the Educational Assistant is responsible for the provision of support to students with exceptional needs within the school. The position involves dealing with confidential information and requires ongoing flexibility and diversity. In support of student learning, teaching, and other professional staff, the responsibilities are many and varied and include any or all of the following: supporting the instruction of individual and/or groups of students in an academic and/or integrated class environment, overseeing special education students and implementing special education programs related to behaviour, communication, intellectual or physical needs, where required.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of specific social/emotional and physical needs of students with learning disabilities, behavioural challenges, developmental disabilities, or physical challenges.

If your experience is in a day-to-day occasional capacity ensure that you list the length of time that you worked for that Supervisor and whether the assignment was casual day-to-day or in a long-term occasional capacity.
