Job summary

Halton District School Board is seeking Student Supervisors to assist students during breaks and to respond appropriately to issues, learning who to contact and when to seek help from teachers or administrators.

The role emphasizes safety, dependable attendance, and a collaborative, diverse school environment. Casual or permanent scheduling is available, roughly one hour per day. Beginning dates are set by the school administrator.

Job description

Position: Student Supervisors

Rate of Pay: $17.60/hr plus 4% vacation pay; increasing to $17.95/hr plus 4% vacation pay as of October 1, 2026

Schedule: Casual and/or permanent, approximately 1 hour per day, to be determined by school

Position Summary:

The role of a Student Supervisor is to support students during breaks, and to be able to respond appropriately when issues arise. The Student Supervisor will need to quickly learn who to communicate with and when to seek assistance from a teacher or administrator to resolve identified issues.

  • Ability to ensure the safety and security of students

  • Ability to communicate with staff, students and parents

  • Willingness to work with students with different needs and capabilities

  • Ability to work with students with different cultural and language background

  • Ability to work as a team player

  • Proven record of attendance and punctuality

  • Demonstrated commitment to working in a diverse school community and/or work environment

Conditions of Employment: All employees must provide an original Criminal Reference Check including Vulnerable Sector Screening, dated within six months.
