Working collaboratively with teams across the College, this role supports students throughout their entire student journey—from onboarding and their first days as a student through to graduation and transition beyond the College. The Student Services Specialist helps create a consistent and welcoming experience at each stage of that journey, ensuring students feel informed, engaged, supported, and connected to the right people and resources.

This is a hands‑on, people‑focused role for someone who enjoys building community, staying organized, communicating effectively, and finding creative ways to continuously improve the student experience.

What You'll Do
Student Journey
  • Support a positive and consistent student journey from onboarding through graduation, helping students feel welcomed, informed, connected, and supported throughout their time at Keyin.
  • Coordinate key student touchpoints and milestones throughout the College experience, helping create a smooth transition between each stage of the student journey.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure students receive a coordinated experience and are connected with the right people, services, and resources along the way.
  • Identify gaps, trends, and opportunities across the student journey and contribute to initiatives that continuously improve the overall student experience.
Student Experience, Engagement & Retention
  • Coordinate student orientation, onboarding, events, activities, and engagement initiatives.
  • Support student retention through check-ins, follow-up, feedback, and connection to appropriate College resources.
  • Create opportunities that encourage student participation, connection, and a sense of belonging.
  • Gather student feedback and identify opportunities to continuously improve the student experience.
Communications & Coordination
  • Develop student communications, including newsletters, announcements, reminders, event promotions, and service updates.
  • Maintain Student Services calendars, records, trackers, and other administrative documentation.
  • Work cross‑functionally with departments across the College to provide a coordinated and positive student experience.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Student Services processes, communications, and programming.
Student Support & Resources
  • Serve as an approachable point of contact for student questions and concerns, helping students navigate College services and processes.
  • Connect students with appropriate internal and external resources and supports when needed.
  • Support the coordination and follow‑up of student concerns, complaints, and conduct‑related matters in collaboration with appropriate team members.
  • Participate in College accessibility and accommodations initiatives and committees as required.
What You’ll Bring
  • Diploma, certificate, or degree in Business Administration, Communications, Digital Health Administration (DHA), Digital Office Administration (DOA), Education, or a related field.
  • A combination of relevant education, experience, and demonstrated skills may also be considered.
  • Experience in student services, customer service, communications, event coordination, administration, or a related area is considered an asset.
  • Experience in a post‑secondary environment or familiarity with community resources in Newfoundland and Labrador is considered an asset.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Creativity, initiative, and practical problem‑solving skills.
  • An approachable, student‑focused mindset with empathy and respect for diverse learners.
