Job summary

McGill University in Montreal is seeking a Student Research Assistant to assist the Integrating AI to Reshape Engineering Pedagogy project. The role supports literature reviews and module development within undergraduate engineering programs.

You will collaborate with faculty and students, help develop learning outcomes, and contribute to conference papers and articles. This 10-hour per week, part-time position runs from Oct 2026 to May 2027 on the Macdonald Engineering Building campus.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate McGill engineering student with subject matter knowledge.
• Active McGill engineering student.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive literature review and environmental scans on best practices for integrating AI content into undergraduate engineering programs.
• With the Research project team, review McGill engineering programs and identify where AI literacy and applied AI knowledge and skills should be embedded.
• Work with instructors to create AI modules and projects for engineering courses.
• With the project team, support the development of learning outcomes, a course plan, and draft instructional content for a Fundamental AI in Engineering course.
• Contribute to the development of conference presentations and academic articles.
• Participate in an AI in engineering education working group.
• Attend weekly 30-minute team meetings.

Primary Responsibilities

Job Requirements/Minimum Education/ Experience

• Possesses subject matter expertise acquired through undergraduate studies in various Engineering programs at McGill.
• Active McGill student in various Engineering programs at McGill.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
