Job description

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed. They are not representing an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required.

Bishop’s University is seeking a Student Recruitment & Admissions Officer for a temporary full-time position. Reporting to the Manager of Student Recruitment & Retention, the incumbent will:

  1. Recruit for the University by visiting high schools and CÉGEPS in Quebec, attending educational fairs across Canada, and potentially recruiting internationally.
  2. Coordinate recruitment efforts, including scheduling school visits, participating in educational fairs, and organizing on-campus and off-campus events, virtually or in person.
  3. Support the daily operations of the Student Recruitment & Retention Office, including campus tours and administrative tasks.

The position requires dynamic public speaking and effective communication in both English and French, with strong presentation, interpersonal, and written skills. The ideal candidate will be competitive, driven to surpass recruitment targets, and capable of analyzing market conditions to suggest strategic improvements. The incumbent will also foster relationships with guidance counsellors and school officials in high schools and CÉGEPS.

Minimum Requirements
  • University degree, preferably from Bishop’s University
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English and French
  • Strong public relations and presentation skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and computer skills
  • Willingness to work weekends and irregular hours
  • Valid driver’s license and passport

Compensation: $27.49 to $35.85 per hour
