Job summary

Canem Systems Ltd. is offering a 16-month co-op for a Student Project Coordinator based in Vancouver, BC, starting January 2027. You will support project coordination, field coordination, and scheduling on active construction projects under supervision.

This internship provides hands-on experience with drawings, trade coordination, progress tracking, and record keeping while mentoring you through real-site activities and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate drawings and work specific scope/trades.
• Review trade quotes, verify material quantities, hours, and rates.
• Participate in project meetings.
• Conduct deficiency walks and update deficiency logs.
• Issue warranties.
• Take and coordinate progress photos.
• Update field drawings and produce as-built drawings.
• Perform quantity takeoffs.
• Coordinate sub-trade work.
• Verify site conditions and coordinate with drawings.
• Supervise sub-trade work.
• Set up and maintain record keeping.
• Layout site lines and grades using total station.
• Update project schedules.
• Create manual schedules and update schedules
• Obtain scheduling information from sub-trades.
• Create and maintain graphical scheduling
• Monitor manpower productivity.

Projects are scoped in alignment with your term length, and typically focus on a current construction project.

What You’ll Be Working On
