Who we need

Reporting to the Brand Director, we are seeking a passionate and personable Student Outreach Manager to inspire the next generation of storytellers and creators. You will promote the innovative, career-focused programs at Toronto Film School to high school students, guidance counsellors, and education influencers. Through engaging presentations, relationship building, and creative event participation, you will connect with students and showcase the diverse roles that bring screen-based entertainment to life.

This is a full-time, 12- to 18-month maternity leave contract. It is a hybrid role with flexible hours and a balance of remote work and in-person outreach across Ontario. You will spend multiple days each week attending school visits and events, with occasional travel outside the province.

Autonomy. This role combines independent planning with in-person work. You will coordinate outreach strategies, prepare and deliver presentations, attend events, and identify new growth opportunities—all while managing your time and schedule. No two weeks will look the same, and you will have the flexibility to shape your calendar around your outreach priorities.

Exposure and connection. As a dynamic and engaging representative of Toronto Film School, you will join a growing outreach team and contribute to our growth. You will expand your network and represent the school at exciting industry events like Fan Expo and the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), where we successfully launched a street art market to showcase the talent of our students. This is an opportunity to connect with inspiring alumni and collaborate with academic and program leaders. You will support experiential activities, including bringing workshops to schools and organizing campus visits.

As our new Student Outreach Manager, you will:

• Drive outreach and engagement. You will identify, plan, and participate in high school recruitment events, student fairs, and creative industry showcases. You will develop and implement outreach strategies that build relationships with key stakeholders—including guidance counsellors, teachers, and youth organizations—and widen our reach across the province.
• Inspire future students. You will speak to students about the many career paths in screen-based industries, from writing and production to animation and game design. You will create and deliver engaging presentations and lead workshops that reflect the energy and innovation of TFS programs. You will present virtually and in person, tailoring your message to different audiences and settings.
• Track progress and optimize processes. You will maintain detailed CRM records and report on key metrics, such as school contact volume and presentation reach. You will suggest improvements to outreach processes, contribute to the development of marketing and brand initiatives, and collaborate with recruitment and academic teams to align on messaging and impact.
• Champion the TFS brand. You will represent Toronto Film School with professionalism and enthusiasm, embodying our values of creativity, equity, inclusion, and student success. You will uphold the standards and policies of the institution and work within regulatory guidelines.

You have:

• The interpersonal skills. You are confident, outgoing, and persuasive. You have experience presenting to groups of various sizes and can build relationships with a range of stakeholders. You have a strong understanding of our student demographic and can communicate in a relatable, engaging way while maintaining a polished and professional presence. You can quickly read a room, adapt your approach, and leave a memorable impression.
• The industry insights. You may be a recent graduate from TFS or a similar creative culture school. You bring practical knowledge of the creative industry and an appreciation for its less visible but equally important roles. You can speak to the reality of working in film, television, or related sectors and understand the lifestyle and demands that come with it. You believe in the value of career-focused education and can make that path resonate with young people.
• The initiative. You thrive in a fast-paced, flexible environment and can manage your schedule with minimal supervision. You are self-directed, organized, and able to balance competing priorities. You are meticulous about tracking and recordkeeping and can contribute meaningfully to reporting and planning processes. You have experience in planning and executing promotional events.
• The tools. You are comfortable with MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. You have experience with CRM systems (Salesforce is an asset) and can quickly learn new tools and systems.
• The flexibility. You have a valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle to transport presentation and workshop materials, and a willingness to drive 2+ hours outside of the GTA. You can work evenings and weekends as needed, based on events and travel requirements, staying overnight on occasion.
