Job summary

UBC Point Grey Campus is seeking student litter pickers to maintain campus cleanliness and order. You will collect and dispose of litter, separate recyclables, and help keep the grounds tidy according to Waste Management standards.

Applicants must be enrolled in a UBC degree program with at least 18 credits, available 7–14 hours weekly, and able to lift 10–20 kg; shifts run 6am–2pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a degree program at the University of British Columbia and maintain a minimum 18 credit course load.
• Available to work between 7 and 14 hours per week; shifts will be 3 to 4 hours in length.
• Able to physically carry out the requirements including walking for extended periods and lifting 10–20 kg.

Responsibilities

• Collect and safely dispose of litter on the Vancouver Point Grey Campus per Waste Management practices.
• Separate recyclables from litter as necessary.
• Emptying waste collected into the appropriate bins.
• Conduct routine checks of grounds to ensure cleanliness.
• Maintain daily records of litter collection via maps.
• May be required to perform other related duties.
