Job summary

Stanley Consultants in Denver, CO is seeking an Electrical Substation Student Intern to join our office. You will contribute to understanding substation design, layouts, protection schemes, grounding and coordination with multi-disciplinary teams.

The role focuses on learning, teamwork and delivering schematic drawings while supporting senior engineers on multiple projects. Eligible students must be enrolled and capable of working in the US without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a BSEE program at an ABET-accredited university.
• Local CO area preference.
• Coursework or experience in power system analysis.
• Sophomore, junior or senior working toward BS EE.
• GPA 3.0 or higher; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn various aspects of substation design and related disciplines.
• Design substation layouts, lightning protection, conduits, grounding and schematics.
• Create panel wiring, DC schematics, control building and relay layouts.

Stanley Consultants is seeking an Electrical Substation Student Intern to join our Denver, CO office.

What You Will Be Doing:

• The student will work on developing an understanding of various aspects of Substation Design.
• Assignments may include the design of substation physical layouts, lightning protection, conduit and cable plans, grounding analysis and design, generating single and three-line schematic diagrams, panel wiring, DC schematics, control building and relay panel layouts, lighting design, and coordination with structural, civil, transmission line, and graphics disciplines.
• Will work as part of a design team; could be assigned to more than one project.

Required Qualifications:

• Candidate mustbe enrolled inBSEE program atan ABET accredited University
• Local to the CO area is a preference
• Coursework or equivalent experience in power system analysis
• Must be a Sophomore, Junior or Senior working towards a BS inElectrical Engineering
• GPA 3.0 or higher
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work legally in the United States for an unlimited time without requiring sponsorship

$23.26 - $28.49 an hour

(Hourly range for CO location)
