Ovintiv Inc. invites applications for a Safety Internship based in Grande Prairie, AB. You will work closely with an experienced mentor to support field safety programs and contribute to safety initiatives across upstream oil and gas operations.

The role focuses on field inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations, offering hands-on learning opportunities while developing safety and regulatory compliance skills in a real-world environment.

Competenze

• Pursuing a diploma or degree in occupational health and safety or related field.
• Enrolled as a full-time student through December 2027.
• Reside in Grande Prairie, AB or Dawson Creek, BC and available May 3, 2027 – Aug 19, 2027.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required.

Interns in our Safety team gain valuable hands-on experience supporting field operations across the upstream oil and gas industry.To ensure interns are given meaningful, value-added assignments, we do not create specific work assignments until a successful candidate is selected.Some responsibilities of this role may include:Supporting field safety programs, education, and awareness initiativesParticipating in field inspections, audits, and hazard identification activitiesAssisting with risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actionsSupporting industrial hygiene and occupational health activitiesAnalyzing process safety data to identify trends and leading indicatorsAssisting with safety management system improvements, regulatory compliance initiatives, and the implementation of new safety technologiesHOW DO I QUALIFY?Must reside or be willing to reside in Grande Prairie, AB, or Dawson Creek, BC.Travel in Western Canada is required.Must be pursuing a diploma or degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, safety management, environmental health and safety (EHS), occupational health, or a closely related health and safety discipline.Must be enrolled as a full-time student through December 2027.Available May 3, 2027 – August 19, 2027.This is a safety-sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Ovintiv Alcohol and Drug policy which includes pre-assignment testing.Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required.In accordance with applicable law, the following represents Ovintiv's reasonable estimate of the hiring compensation range for this role.Hiring Hourly Range: $23.13 - $32.02 CADCompensation may vary and will be determined by year in school.Relocation assistance may be available for eligible candidates.VALUING YOUR CONTRIBUTIONSOvintiv values the contribution of new talent and recruits ambitious, high-performing students who are committed to excellence.
