Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. in Vancouver invites applications for a Student Estimator position. You will work with Senior Estimators to support bid development for large-scale infrastructure projects, learning practical estimating skills and the full lifecycle from pre-construction through execution.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a diploma or degree program in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
Strong interest in construction estimating and pre-construction services.
Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Support development of competitive bids and project pursuit strategies with Senior Estimators and Managers.
Gain exposure to major infrastructure pursuits including bridges, tunnels, highways, and transit systems.
Prepare and validate portions of detailed project estimates with guidance from experienced estimators.
Update estimating software with quantities, pricing, and subcontractor quotations.
Assist with bid submissions, subcontractor pricing, and bid evaluations.
