Okanagan College in Kelowna invites applications for a Conversation Corner Facilitator. The role supports students by facilitating English conversation groups, building confidence in communication, and fostering intercultural connections in an inclusive campus setting.
Under supervision, you will lead discussions, encourage participation, coordinate with co-facilitators, and connect students with campus resources.

In accordance with Letter of Understanding #1 – Success Centre Peer Conversation Corner Facilitators, under the direct supervision of the Success Centre Coordinator or designated supervisor, facilitate informal, student-centered conversation groups that provide opportunities for participants to practice spoken English, build confidence in communication skills, and develop social connections in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Through structured activities, guided discussions, and peer engagement, Conversation Corner Facilitators create spaces where students can connect with one another, develop intercultural awareness, increase confidence in communicating in English, and strengthen their sense of belonging within the Okanagan College community. Facilitators encourage participation, support positive group dynamics, and help participants engage with campus resources and opportunities.
The student will assist the supervisor by performing the following duties:
Enrolled in a post-secondary program at Okanagan College.
Prior work, volunteer, tutoring, mentoring, or leadership experience is considered an asset.
Position Specific Education and Experience:
Experience learning or speaking more than one language is considered an asset.
Experience facilitating groups, mentoring peers, or participating in intercultural activities is considered an asset.
