Job summary

Sun Life invites you to join the Enterprise Data Architecture team for an 8-month term in Winter and Summer 2027. You’ll help shape governed AI-ready data platforms and gain hands-on experience with metadata, governance, and modern lakehouse architectures.

As a student in CS/Data Science or a related field, you’ll collaborate with senior data architects, contribute to the AI-Ready Data Factory, and develop skills in SQL, Python, and AI-enabled tooling while working in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Upper year undergraduate or Master's or PhD student with Aug 2027 or later graduation date.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Understanding of modern data architecture principles and practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the AI-Ready Data Factory, including data acquisition, modelling, metadata management, retrieval, and governed AI consumption.
• Support data architecture research, prototyping, testing, and documentation activities.
• Help define and improve reusable data architecture patterns, standards, and best practices.
• Support enterprise data architecture governance and review processes.
• Assist with the Enterprise Architecture (ATG) process by coordinating and tracking architecture reviews.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders on AI-ready data initiatives.
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge-sharing across the team.

Data Engineering & Architecture

As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

Join Sun Life's Enterprise Data Architecture team and help shape how enterprise data is governed, structured, and prepared for AI. Working alongside senior data architects, you will contribute to the AI-Ready Data Factory and gain hands‑on experience in modern data architecture, metadata, governance, and AI‑enabled data platforms.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.

Eligible Sun Life employees for various Campus Graduate programs will also participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance
