Job summary

Sun Life is seeking a Student, Cloud Infrastructure Analyst for AI Operations to join a co-op program in a hybrid Toronto-based setup. You will learn from engineers, support AI/cloud infrastructure, and contribute to automation and reliability across enterprise platforms.

You will gain hands-on exposure to AWS-based AI services, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices while developing skills in platform engineering and documentation. A meaningful, growth-oriented student experience is offered.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with enabling and supporting cloud based AI services and solutions (e.g., AWS based platforms and tooling).
  • Support infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation and/or Terraform).
  • Help implement and improve automation, CI/CD pipelines, and operational workflows.
  • Assist with onboarding and supporting teams using shared AI and analytics platforms.
  • Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with engineers, architects, and platform partners.
  • Learn how enterprise AI and analytics platforms are designed, deployed, and supported in production environments.
  • Observe and assist with operational support activities (monitoring, incident follow-ups, KTLO tasks).
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and suggest practical, innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with Cloud, Security, Architecture, Data Science, and Analytics teams to deliver platform capabilities.
  • Learn and apply automation-first and DevOps practices to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with supporting enterprise AI and analytics platforms such as AWS SageMaker, Snowflake, and related technologies.

Student, Cloud Infrastructure Analyst, AI Operations

Are you curious about how enterprise-scale AI and analytics platforms are built, operated, and continuously improved? This co-op opportunity is designed for students who want hands-on experience working with experienced engineers to learn, assist, and contribute to the enablement of AI and cloud infrastructure used across the organization.


In this role, you will support AI Ops and cloud platform initiatives, help implement infrastructure and automation patterns, and contribute ideas that improve reliability, security, and developer experience. Initiative, curiosity, and strong problem-solving skills are highly valued.


This role requires Reliability Security Clearance. In addition to a lawenforcement inquiry and a credit check, as part of your application, the Government of Canada will ask if you lived or travelled outsideof Canada for 6-consecutive months during the last 5 years, andyou must account for all activities during this time.


What will you do?

Preferred Skills
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
  • Basic understanding of services such as IAM, S3, or managed AI services
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts (specifically CloudFormation)
  • Programming or scripting experience, particularly with automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD, Git, or DevOps concepts
  • Interest in AI, machine learning, analytics platforms, or platform engineering

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.
