Job summary

iA Financial Group is seeking a motivated Student – Data Analyst in Montreal to transform data into insights that support business decisions. You will work on KPI monitoring, dashboards, and reporting tools, with a focus on data collection, validation, and automation using SQL, Excel, Power Query, and Power BI.

Ideal candidates are pursuing studies in data science or related fields, possess strong analytical skills, and communicate in English.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing studies in data science, business analytics, actuarial science, computer science, statistics, or related field.
• Has strong analytical skills and interest in data analysis, reporting, and solving business problems.
• Demonstrates rigor and proactive approach.
• Comfortable with Excel, SQL, or Power BI.
• Intermediate English proficiency for analyses and daily communications.

Responsibilities

• Extract, analyze, and interpret data to address business needs (KPI monitoring, trend analysis, reporting).
• Contribute to dashboards, tracking files, and reporting tools development and maintenance.
• Present results clearly to support understanding and decision-making.
• Assist in data collection, validation, and transformation for reports.
• Support automation of repetitive tasks using SQL, Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
• Identify improvement opportunities to streamline processes and build reusable solutions.

• Extracting, analyzing, and interpreting data to address concrete business needs, such as KPI monitoring, trend analysis, and management reporting;
• Contributing to the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of dashboards, tracking files, and reporting tools;
• Presenting results in a clear and simplified manner to support understanding and decision-making among stakeholders;
• Participating in the collection, validation, and transformation of data required for recurring and ad hoc reporting;
• Supporting the automation of repetitive tasks using tools such as SQL, Excel, Power Query, Power BI, or other relevant technologies;
• Identifying and implementing improvement opportunities to streamline processes, reduce the risk of errors, and develop reusable solutions to efficiently address recurring business needs.
