Currently, we are looking to fill the following student vacancy:
Student Assistant, Northumberland Paramedics (Logistics & Administration)
Work Location: 600 William Street, Cobourg
Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Operations, you will work in a fast-paced environment and provide logistical support to the paramedic department serving the Northumberland County community. Utilizing digital resources and software solutions, you will help organize, track, and oversee the equipment, medical stock and inventory for the paramedic department. You will ensure the adequate level and quality is maintained and delivered to our 6 base locations, and ambulances. You will assist in movement of vehicles for mandatory services and preventative maintenance. You will protect your own health, and the health of others by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
Additionally, you will utilize your strong organizational, time management, and customer service skills to provide assistance primarily to the 911 administration team and to the Quality Assurance and Professional standards team as required. You will work with staff to complete day to day tasks in an administrative capacity.
The ideal candidate will possess above-average organizational, prioritization and detailed – oriented skills.
A student is defined as a person between the ages of 18-30 at the start of the employment; registered as a full-time student in the current academic year (2025/2026) and intends to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year (2026/2027). As a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment, you are legally entitled to work in Canada. You must be available to work from May 4 to August 28, 2026.
