Job description

Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.

SUMMARY

The Structural and Plate Fitter is involved in fabrication of piping / plate components. This work exists indoors or outdoors and may be physically demanding.

Anticipated Start : June 23, 2025

Location : Edmonton, AB Fabrication Shop

Shift : Day Shift, 6am-4 : 30pm, Mon-Thurs

Rate : $42.18 (Exclusive of employer contributions for vacation / statutory, health and welfare, RSP, RSP matching, and education and training)

JOB DUTIES

• Comply with Company and Client Safety rules, as well as OH&S standards
• Will be working with Pipefitters
• Fit / layout plate / pipe using shop control drawings(acorn)
• Tack weld fitting components (plates and pipe fittings such as flanges, elbows, reducers etc.)
• Utilize elbow jigs and external pipe clamps whenever possible
• Attend required safety and tailgate / toolbox meetings
• May perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a registered apprentice, an Alberta-certified journeyperson, hold a valid recognized credential, or possess the skills and knowledge expected of a Journeyperson.
• CSTS-09 and / or CSTS-20
• Confined space
• Overhead crane and rigging
• Fabricating experience on piping is an asset but willing to train.
• Able to work well in a team environment
• Must be physically able to lift 50lbs and climb in / under units in the field
• Organized and self-motivated
