Job summary

JMT Consultants Inc. seeks an experienced Structural Engineer – Project Manager to lead engineering projects from planning to completion in a fast-paced environment.

The role combines strong structural expertise with project management, client communication and team leadership. You will manage multiple projects, control budgets and schedules, and ensure deliverables meet codes and standards across Canada and the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• P.Eng. in Canada or eligible for registration.
• 4+ years of structural engineering experience with project coordination or management.
• Experience in structural steel design and construction.
• Willingness to travel to the United States.

Responsibilities

• Manage structural engineering projects from kickoff through design, coordination, delivery, and closeout.
• Lead client and stakeholder communication with consultants, contractors, fabricators, detailers, and erectors.
• Manage scope, schedules, budgets, resources, deliverables and hours; address risks.
• Design, analyze and review structural systems; provide technical leadership.
• Review calculations, drawings, specifications for quality and code compliance.
• Coordinate structural requirements with detailing, fabrication, erection, architecture, and other disciplines.
• Handle RFIs, design revisions, scope changes and change orders.
• Lead project meetings and communicate status, priorities, risks and decisions.
• Support proposals, scopes, fee estimates, schedules and planning.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote quality and efficiency.
• Build strong client relationships through responsive communication and delivery.
• Work on projects designed to CISC and AISC standards (U.S. projects via our U.S. company).
