Job summary

JMT Consultants Inc. in Ontario is seeking a Connection Design Engineer with strong experience in steel and concrete structures to drive project success from inception to completion.

You will collaborate with project managers, utilize Tekla for detailing, review BIM models, and contribute to design calculations, shop drawings, and RFIs while ensuring compliance with codes. The role requires travel to the USA and offers professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering is required.
• 2+ years of structural engineering experience, travel to USA is required.
• PE (P.Eng.) certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Structural analysis for delegated steel connection design projects.
• Work on CISC & AISC projects; AISC projects led by US company.
• Design of steel connections, miscellaneous steel, and erection engineering.
• Develop calculations, review steel shop drawings, prepare submittals, develop RFIs.
• Utilize Ram Connection, RISA Connection, Excel, Idea Statica, Bluebeam, Trimble Connect, and Revit.
• Review 3-D BIM models to aid building design and shop drawings reviews.
