Job summary

Coastal Steel Construction Ltd is seeking a Structural Fitter to join our shop team in Ontario. This full-time position focuses on reading drawings, fitting, fabrication and welding of structural steel components to precise specifications.

You will work with overhead cranes, hoists and cutting tools, perform stamping and tagging, and participate in basic equipment maintenance as needed. Three+ years of structural steel experience and the ability to lift 50 lb+ are required.

Qualifications

• Three or more years fitting experience specifically in structural steel fitting, fabrication and welding
• Physically fit and able to frequently lift in excess of 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Read and understand engineered drawings, plans and blueprints
• Stamping and tagging
• Competent use of equipment and tools including overhead cranes, hoists, welding machines and cutting torch
• Cutting and drilling of steel
• Fitting, fabrication and welding
• Assemble and fit metal sections and plates to form complete units or subunits using tack welding, bolting, riveting or other methods
• Occasional basic equipment maintenance
