Job summary

Skyline Recruitment Ltd in Vancouver is recruiting a Junior / Intermediate Structural Design Engineer to join a well-established structural engineering consultancy. You will work on a variety of building projects in a fast-paced, mentorship-rich environment.

Ideal candidates have an engineering degree with a structural focus, P.Eng. or EIT registration, and experience in concrete and wood design, plus knowledge of the BC Building Code.

Qualifications

• ASc. or B.Eng. in Civil Engineering with a Structural major.
• Registered as a P.Eng. or EIT with EGBC.
• Structural design experience in concrete and wood.
• Working knowledge of the BC Building Code.
• Ability to read and interpret drawing plans and construction documentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare structural designs, calculations, and analysis in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Develop engineering drawings and documents using CAD software.
• Review drawings, reports, and construction documentation to support project planning and execution.
• Conduct field reviews and structural site observations.
• Review shop drawings, contractor requests, and RFIs.
• Coordinate with internal team members and external project stakeholders.
