Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Building Engineering with advanced steel design coursework.
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is an asset.
• Experience in consulting engineering is an asset; responsibilities will be tailored to the candidate’s experience level.
• Proficiency with SAP2000.

Responsibilities

• Design steel structures for heavy industrial facilities, including buildings, lifting systems, penstocks, and hydromechanical equipment.
• Perform structural calculations, analyses, and design validations per codes and standards.
• Develop optimized structural solutions addressing site conditions and fabrication/construction needs.
• Contribute to steel erection and assembly sequencing.
• Prepare and review technical drawings and specifications with drafters and technicians.
• Provide technical guidance to project managers, clients, and partners.
• Participate in design reviews, meetings and project follow-ups.
• Work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
