Job summary

DPHV is seeking a Design Engineer and Project Manager to analyze and design building structures in steel, reinforced concrete, and timber, and to lead projects from conception through construction.

You will prepare reports, drawings, and specifications, coordinate with drafters, and mentor junior engineers in a collaborative, client-focused Quebec-based office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, or Construction Engineering with a structural specialization.
• 3–5 years of experience in building structural design; senior profiles welcome.
• Consulting engineering experience in Québec is a significant asset.
• Proficiency with ETABS, SAP2000, and SAFE.
• Fluent in French, spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design building structures in steel, reinforced concrete, and timber.
• Perform structural calculations and prepare technical reports.
• Develop drawings and specifications in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Participate in project kick-off meetings, planning, and coordination activities.
• Coordinate drawing production with drafters and ensure the quality of project deliverables.
• Conduct field surveys of existing structures when required.
• Contribute to the optimization of technical solutions and design methodologies.
• Progressively take on greater responsibilities in project management and mentoring junior team members.

Your Role

As a Design Engineer and Project Manager, you will:

• Analyze and design building structures in steel, reinforced concrete, and timber
• Perform structural calculations and prepare clear, concise technical reports
• Develop drawings and specifications in compliance with applicable codes and standards
• Participate in project kick-off meetings, planning, and coordination activities
• Coordinate drawing production with drafters and ensure the quality of project deliverables
• Conduct field surveys of existing structures when required
• Contribute to the optimization of technical solutions and design methodologies
• Progressively take on greater responsibilities in project management and mentoring junior team members according to your experience

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, or Construction Engineering with a structural specialization
• Approximately three- five years of experience in building structural design (flexible depending on the candidate’s profile – We welcome senior profil too)
• Consulting engineering experience in Québec is a significant asset
• Proficiency with ETABS, SAP2000, and SAFE
• Strong engineering judgment and attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and teamwork skills
• Fluent in French, both spoken and written (essential)

• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel occasionally
