Job summary

KGS Group in Thunder Bay is seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to lead the structural design of multi-discipline projects for commercial, industrial, and multi-family residential buildings.

You will mentor junior staff, manage budgets and schedules, and prepare technical reports and presentations as part of a senior-engineering team. Ontario PE registration or eligibility is required, with travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with a structural design focus from a recognized university.
• Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience with design calculations and reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Must be registered or eligible for Professional Engineer in Ontario.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required (½ to 1 day visits).
• Valid G driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Manage structural design of multi-discipline projects from proposal to completion, including budgets and schedules.
• Provide structural design for small to large commercial/industrial projects.
• Prepare tender and construction documents or reports with the team.
• Assist in large multi-discipline proposals and prepare structural proposals.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Mentor junior staff and oversee support personnel.
