Job summary

Stantec in Montréal, Québec is seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to join our Buildings team. You will design concrete, steel, and timber structures, perform structural calculations, and contribute to plans and specifications on projects across Québec.

With a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering and at least 3 years of relevant experience (OIQ membership), you’ll collaborate with architects and clients, lead structural tasks, and participate in site reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
• Good command of English, both spoken and written, to collaborate with internal teams and clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural calculations for plans and specifications.
• Design and contribute to development of plans and specifications for buildings of varying scope.
• Conduct structural surveys and inspections of building structures.
• Prepare studies, technical reports, and expert assessments.
• Provide technical and administrative support during construction site reviews.
• Oversee structural work during the construction phase.
• Lead structural engineering projects when appropriate; manage client follow-up on budgets and schedules.
