Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Canada seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer to contribute to design and preparation of plans for structural projects nationwide. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and support national project delivery across Canada.

Qualified candidates have a Civil Engineering degree, P.Eng status (Manitoba), and 5–10 years of relevant experience with ETABS/SAP2000/SAFE. Strong communication and mentoring skills are valued in a hybrid workplace.

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering is an asset.
• P.Eng status with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in design and preparation of plans and specifications for various structural projects.
• Collaborate on projects across Canada with multi-disciplinary teams and support national project delivery.
• Conduct studies, surveys, technical reports, and structural inspections.
• Supervise the execution of structural work during construction and provide construction support.
• Ensure engineering work complies with National Building Code and provincial codes.
• Coordinate projects impacting structural design with mechanical, electrical, architecture and process teams.
• Maintain and develop strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Develop and mentor junior staff through coaching and feedback.
• Contribute to proposals with scope definition and technical input.

Your role

• Actively participate in the design and preparation of plans and specifications (steel, concrete, wood, masonry, etc.).
• Participate in projects across Canada, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and supporting national project delivery.
• Conduct studies, surveys, technical reports, and structural inspections.
• Supervise the execution of structural work during the construction phase and provide construction support.
• Ensure that engineering work is produced in accordance with industry quality standards and complies with the National Building Code and applicable Provincial building codes.
• Coordinate projects impacting structural design with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, architecture, process, etc.).
• Maintain and develop strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Develop and mentor junior staff through coaching, technical guidance, and ongoing performance feedback.
• Contribute to proposal development, including scope definition, technical input, and working closely with project managers and business development teams.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering is an asset.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.
• 5-10 years of previous related experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Strong experience with structural design software (ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, etc.).
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail oriented with the ability to manage changing priorities.
