Your Contribution

Protostatix, a division of Englobe, seeks Structural Engineers for our Edmonton office, with consideration for Calgary. The role involves collaborative work in structural design, detailing, and site assessments, primarily focusing on wood construction projects.

Main Responsibilities

1. Perform structural site investigations, inspections, and reviews; prepare technical reports.
2. Describe existing conditions and provide engineering solutions via assessments and studies.
3. Conduct engineering calculations, analysis, and design using current codes for various materials.
4. Manage project documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
5. Oversee project schedules and budgets.
6. Engage with clients and contractors throughout projects.
7. Review and mentor junior team members’ designs and drawings.
8. Review contractor submittals and develop design modifications as needed.
9. Support business development efforts.
10. Adhere to Englobe’s health and safety protocols.

Candidate Profile

• Registered with APEGA or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, especially in wood construction.
• Knowledge of Canadian building codes and standards.
• Experience with structural analysis software (ETABS, SAFE, SFRAME, etc.).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Alberta.
