Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineering Graduate / Structural EIT to join our growing team in Kitchener, Ontario. This entry point offers diverse projects, from commercial buildings to infrastructure, with mentorship from experienced engineers.

You will assist in design, analysis, and documentation of structural systems, develop technical skills, and contribute to site reviews and BIM coordination. Hybrid work arrangements and professional growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering
Ontario driver’s license with a good driving record
Willingness to work from the Kitchener office two to three days per week
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from senior professionals

Responsibilities

Build analytic and design skills
Conduct structural engineering designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under supervision
Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems
Work within budget and schedule under supervision
Prepare and review contract specifications including cost estimates and quantities
Undertake site inspection of structures within a prescribed methodology
Provide site reviews to monitor contractor performance and attend site meetings
Apply standard techniques and procedures to engineering tasks to develop judgment
