Job summary

Giffen Consulting Ltd. in Toronto and Vancouver is seeking a Structural Drafter to join our growing team on a full‑time, hybrid basis with a minimum of three in-office days per week.

This intermediate to senior position offers significant career progression opportunities, focusing on mining, utility, and heavy industrial projects, producing 2D drawings and 3D models with AutoCAD and Advance Steel, and coordinating with clients and the project team.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Structural Engineering Technology from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• Registered as an Applied Science Technologist in Canada or eligible to register.
• 3+ years progressive experience as a Structural Drafter on Mining / Heavy Industrial Projects.
• Familiarity with greenfield and brownfield mining open-pit and underground mining projects.
• Experience creating 2D and 3D drawings, plot plans, profiles, and details.
• AutoCAD is essential.
• Advance Steel would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed structural drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Advance Steel.
• Prepare general arrangement drawings, detail drawings, and erection drawings for structural projects.
• Develop and maintain 3D structural models for mining and heavy industrial projects.
• Generate plans, elevations, sections and details from structural models.
• Create and maintain drawing sets for review, approval, and construction.

Giffen Consulting Ltd. (Giffen) is looking to hire a Structural Drafter to join our growing team. We are looking for an individual to join us on a full-time basis in our Vancouver or Toronto office. This is a hybrid work arrangement with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

This is an intermediate to senior-level position that offers lots of opportunities for career progression.

Key Responsibilities
