Job summary

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Structural Designer in Sudbury, Ontario. This role supports a project-driven engineering team delivering reinforced concrete and structural steel design for industrial and mining facilities.

You will model and draft in 2D/3D CAD, coordinating with other disciplines and ensuring accuracy of field dimensions. The successful candidate will have a technical diploma in civil/structural design and 4+ years of relevant experience, including exposure to EPCM

Qualifications

• Technical diploma in civil/structural design.
• 4+ years in civil structures design, industrial/mining focus.
• Experience in large EPCM projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Designer with scope, quantities, cost and schedule.
• Coordinate draftspersons for contract drawings and record-keeping.
• Produce and maintain 2D and 3D structural drawings.
• Perform conceptual layout and develop design details.
• Ensure coordination with discipline team and other disciplines.
• Perform clash detection across models.
• Verify onsite conditions and dimensions of existing facilities.

Agilus is proud to partner with Hatch, one of Canada's Top 100 Employers and a leading engineering firm supporting major projects across infrastructure, energy, and mining.Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Structural Deigner in the Engineering consulting industry in Sudbury, Ontario. The Structural Designer is part of an engineering team delivering services for large and small heavy industrial and mining projects. The role is responsible for producing structural 3D models and 2D drawings in accordance with project requirements under the supervision of the Lead Structural Designer. The successful candidate will support a variety of projects involving reinforced concrete and structural steel design for industrial and mining facilities. Responsibilities include structural steel and concrete modeling and drafting for front-end planning and detailed engineering phases of multi-discipline projects.

A typical day:

• Assist the Lead Structural Designer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost and schedule
• Coordinate the work of draftspersons in the preparation of contract drawings, record keeping and other statistical work
• Produce and maintain technical and engineering drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software as required
• Perform conceptual layout work
• Develop design details
• Ensure coordination with designers and engineers within the discipline and with other disciplines
• Perform clash detection of models with other discipline models
• Verify onsite condition and dimensions relating to existing facilities

Successful candidates will have:

• Technical school diploma specializing in civil/structural design
• 4+ civil structures design experience with a focus on industrial and mining projects
• Experience within a large project, multi-disciplinary EPCM environment
• Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D structural design/drawing software packages
• Experienced with Microstation OpenBuildings software.
• Knowledge of Revit and Autocad is an asset
