Job summary

A leading staffing agency is seeking a mid-senior level Designer for structural drafting in the nuclear power sector. The role involves providing drafting and detailing support for the BWRX-300 Reactor Building, creating 3D Revit models and 2D drawings, and executing design activities in compliance with best practices. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in structural drafting and competency using Revit. This contract position offers a pay range of CA$83.00/hr - CA$85.00/hr.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in structural drafting for heavy industrial or similar industries.
• Minimum 3 years of experience using Revit for structural modeling.
• Advanced knowledge of Revit family creation is an asset.

Base pay range

Job Description

• The Designer will provide drafting and detailing support for structural design of the BWRX-300 Reactor Building from preliminary phase through construction documents.
• Preparation of 3D Revit structural models and 2D drawings and details of structural building systems.
• Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 3D models, 2D cross sections, section details, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.
• Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a structural discipline, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
• Has knowledge of structural drafting and design best practices, including interfaces with mechanical piping, HVAC and electrical.
• Design activity will require knowledge of design principles and drafting procedure.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3 years of experience in structural drafting for heavy industrial, thermal power, nuclear industry or similar industries.
• OR at least 5 years of relevant work experience in structural drafting for heavy industrial, thermal power, nuclear industry or similar industries.
• Minimum 3 years of experience using Revit for structural modeling.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Nuclear experience.
• Work within a team environment to execute work plans and schedules as applicable for mission success.
• Perform work in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Competency in computer programs and software such as Microsoft products and Microsoft teams.
• Advanced knowledge of Revit family creation.
