Job summary

BPA in Ottawa seeks a Structural Engineer for the Special Projects Division to design and review structural elements for renovations and new builds. You will collaborate with REVIT/CAD operators and senior staff to deliver accurate drawings and reports.

The role requires 4+ years of experience, a PE license or imminent licensure, and fluency in English and French. Enjoy a 37.5-hour week with flexible scheduling and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering.
• 4+ years of related structural engineering experience.
• Licensed professional engineer or near licensure (PEO).
• OIQ licensure is an asset.
• Proficient in S-Frame, Etabs, S-Concrete, Woodworks, SP Slab.

Responsibilities

• Perform site reviews, data collection, and prepare reports, drawings and specifications.
• Analyze and design structural elements for concrete, steel, masonry, wood, etc.
• Collaborate with REVIT/CAD operators to develop accurate project drawings.
• Support junior staff and attend department/project meetings.
• Review codes and standards to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct on-site field reviews and prepare related reports and documentation.
