Job summary

SOGECLAIR is seeking a Stress Analysis Engineer to assess damage tolerance of primary structural elements (PSE) and support certification activities in an aerospace program. You will develop fatigue spectra, validate analyses, and collaborate with suppliers and maintenance teams to ensure design integrity.

Ideal candidates have a decade of experience in fatigue and damage tolerance, proficient in NASTRAN/PATRAN/NASGRO/CATIA V5, and must communicate in French and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and strong fundamentals in structural analysis.
• Minimum ten years of experience in fatigue and damage tolerance design (DTD) of metal aircraft structures.
• Proficiency with NASTRAN, PATRAN, NASGRO, CATIA V5 and office suites.
• Experience in development programs or in-service support with certification activities is a plus.
• Fluency in French and English and strong communication skills.

Your role as a Stress Analysis Engineer - Damage Tolerance will be to analyze the damage tolerance of primary structural elements (PSE).

TASKS YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH

• Conduct damage tolerance analyses on primary structural elements (PSE)
• Provide recommendations on aircraft structural design and repair concepts
• Develop fatigue spectra
• Validate damage tolerance analyses against experimental results
• Support the development of the maintenance manual in collaboration with the technical publications and maintenance engineering groups
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with program methodology and technical requirements
• Review supplier reports and analyses
• Prepare certification reports

YOUR PROFILE IS ESSENTIAL TO OUR SUCCESS

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in stress analysis of metal aircraft structures, with a specialization in fatigue and damage tolerance design (DTD)
• Proficiency in NASTRAN, PATRAN, NASGRO, CATIA V5, as well as the MS Office suite and Google Workspace
• Experience in an aircraft development program or in-service support, including certification activities, is a plus
• Knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques is considered a plus
• Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and strong team spirit
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to read and communicate in French and English
