Job summary

The Senior Manager, Operations and Innovation at The University of British Columbia leads strategic oversight of ATM, integrating administration, operations, and innovation initiatives to advance translational medicine.

This role partners with the ATM Director and external stakeholders to build programs, manage resources, and drive partnerships that accelerate research, education, and commercialization within UBC's Faculty of Medicine.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum of five years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one’s own.
• Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Participates as a member of the ATM's Leadership Team in the development of strategic priorities and goals.
• Works under the direction of the ATM Director to develop strategies to improve ATM operations and implement new initiatives.
• Develops and provides leadership for strategic administrative and financial efficiencies for the ATM and its members.
• Facilitates and manages strategic partnerships and the development of agreements with external agencies, government ministries, industry, and investors.

Education

Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline

Postgraduate degree in business administration and/or biomedical research, molecular biology, microbiology, biochemical engineering or acceptable combination

Master’s degree or higher
