Job description

Markage is looking for a Strategy Analyst to join our Canadian team in an on-site role based in Calgary, Vancouver, or Toronto.

This role focuses on turning research, business information, customer evidence, and market context into clear strategic insights. You will support brand, experience, and growth strategy by structuring research, identifying patterns, developing hypotheses, and preparing evidence that helps teams make better decisions. The work is analytical, but it also requires clear writing and communication.

You will work with senior strategists, designers, client directors, researchers, marketers, and client stakeholders. Clear communication, reliable follow-through, and careful work are expected.

AI-assisted tools may be used for research synthesis, data organization, summaries, presentation development, comparison frameworks, and documentation. All AI-assisted work must be reviewed for accuracy, relevance, confidentiality, and fit before it is shared or used.

One in-house opening. This role may be based in Calgary, Vancouver, or Toronto. These are alternative work locations for the same position, not separate vacancies.

Essential duties:
  • Conduct market, audience, competitor, category, and business research for strategy projects.
  • Structure qualitative and quantitative information into useful comparisons, themes, and findings.
  • Analyze customer, market, brand, or performance data at an appropriate level for the project.
  • Develop clear hypotheses and identify where evidence is strong, weak, or still missing.
  • Prepare strategy presentations, frameworks, charts, summaries, and supporting documentation.
  • Support interviews, workshops, surveys, or other research activities where required.
  • Maintain clear sources, assumptions, working files, and research records.
  • Work with strategists and designers to connect findings to practical decisions and opportunities.
Essential requirements:
  • Experience in research, analysis, strategy, marketing, consulting, insights, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical writing and ability to explain findings without overstating the evidence.
  • Comfort working with spreadsheets, presentations, research sources, and structured data.
  • Holds a valid Dex Professional Specialist Certification (DEX-PSP) in the Marketing & Growth domain.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Agency, consulting, research, or multi-client experience.
  • Experience with customer research, market analysis, analytics, or survey data.
  • Education in business, economics, marketing, social science, design research, or a related field.
