Responsibilities

• Lead product-design workstreams from problem framing through detailed interface design.
• Translate user, business, and technical needs into flows, information architecture, interactions, and interfaces.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, journey views, interface specifications, and high-fidelity designs.
• Plan or support user research, usability testing, and evidence-based design iteration.
• Contribute to or lead design systems, component libraries, patterns, and documentation.
• Work closely with engineers to resolve implementation details and protect design intent.
• Present design decisions clearly to product teams, clients, and senior stakeholders.
• Review implemented work and identify usability, accessibility, consistency, or quality issues.
• Support other designers with critique, direction, and practical problem solving.

Markage is looking for a Senior Digital Product Designer to join our Canadian team in an on-site role based in Calgary, Vancouver, or Toronto.

This role focuses on leading product design across discovery, user flows, interaction, interface design, systems, and prototyping. You will work on digital products and services from problem definition through validated design and implementation. The role requires strong interaction thinking, visual craft, system discipline, and close collaboration with product and engineering.

You will work with product managers, engineers, researchers, strategists, designers, and client stakeholders. Clear communication, reliable follow-through, and careful work are expected.

AI-assisted tools may be used for research synthesis, interface exploration, documentation, content preparation, prototype support, and design-system maintenance. All AI-assisted work must be reviewed for accuracy, relevance, confidentiality, and fit before it is shared or used.

One in-house opening. This role may be based in Calgary, Vancouver, or Toronto. These are alternative work locations for the same position, not separate vacancies.

• Strong portfolio showing senior digital product, UX, and interface-design work.
• Experience owning product-design workstreams from discovery through implementation.
• Advanced working knowledge of Figma and modern design-system practices.
• Strong understanding of usability, accessibility, interaction design, and responsive interfaces.
• Holds a valid Dex Professional Senior Specialist Certification (DEX-PSS) in the Arts, Media & Creative Production domain.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with complex SaaS, platform, e-commerce, or service-design products.
• Experience planning user research or usability testing.
• Experience contributing to large design systems or component libraries.
