Job description

Intercept is a frontier B2B agency for global technology companies. We help the world’s biggest tech brands influence buying committees with campaigns, content, and creative across the full buyer journey. 135+ awards since 2019 and an average client tenure of 9 years.

Our clients include Anthropic, AMD, Intel, Microsoft, HP, SAP, Qualcomm, Nokia, and other technology leaders. We work across NA, Europe, and Asia in 20+ languages.

We’re human-led and AI-forward. Our strategists use proprietary AI agent tools daily. Our InterceptOS platform combines market intelligence, GTM strategy, creative production, and campaign measurement. It’s the future of the company, and it’s already shaping how we work.

ROLE OVERVIEW: Your core focus is providing the inputs that power the strategy. Research, audits, competitive scans, content evaluations, and the first pass at strategic frameworks (e.g., ABM, connected journeys, etc.). Our Director of Strategy sets the direction, and you help drive the execution. As you progress, you will increasingly direct the strategy itself. You will be measured on rigor, agility, turnaround speed, and how quickly your first drafts stop needing a second pair of hands or more senior review.

Is This You?

You go deeper than you were asked to. Given a competitor list, you come back with the pattern across them rather than just the raw insights. Given a meeting transcript, you will read between the lines to decode what the client really wants.

You are relatively early in a B2B or technology marketing career, and you want to dive deeper. You may not know some of the deliverables yet, but you’re curious and eager to find out.

You are fast, and you check your work. We have hundreds of active projects throughout the year, which means concurrent audits, research pulls, and strategy presentations. You will be expected to move fast, powered by agentic tools, but be accountable for the output.

You already use AI tools, and you push them harder than most people do. You are also able to spot AI slop and AI-isms and know how to fix them.

You write clearly. Your analysis reads like something a client could act on rather than a pile of notes for someone else to interpret.

The Good News

Working at the frontier, you are partnering with the largest technology companies in the world from your first day. Microsoft, HP, SAP, AMD, Qualcomm. The work is complex, technical, and genuinely interesting.

You will use AI agent tools most organizations don't have yet for research synthesis, competitive audits, content scoring, and project analysis. The tools handle assembly so your time goes into judgment and taste.

You will be taught and mentored. Our Director of Strategy, along with senior team members, will review your work, explain the reasoning, and hand you more responsibility as you become ready. There is a defined path from this seat to Senior Strategist and beyond.

You are joining a diverse, remote-first team, with people across San Diego, San Francisco, Toronto, Vancouver, and the Asia Pacific region. Remote gives you real flexibility over how and where you work.

The Hard Work

The pace is demanding.

B2B technology has a steep learning curve. Channel ecosystems, buying committees, partner marketing, silicon and ISV alliances. Nobody expects you to know it on day one, but we do expect that you will put in the effort to learn it quickly.

AI is a core part of how we work. You will be expected to adopt the tools quickly and provide constructive feedback to improve processes and quality of output. Quality standards are high. Intercept has built a reputation for analyst-firm rigor with full creative studio execution.

Responsibilities Include
  • Run competitive audits across search visibility, AI engine visibility, messaging, content, and paid social, and turn the findings into a clear read.
  • Conduct desk research on markets, buyers, and competitors, and structure it so someone can act on it.
  • Build content audits and inventories, and score existing content against a campaign brief.
  • Pull audience and persona research together from primary and secondary sources.
  • Prepare the inputs for messaging and positioning frameworks, and draft first passes for senior review.
  • Support campaign concept development across the GTM flywheel, from market intelligence through measurement.
  • Read incoming briefs, statements of work, and RFPs, and summarize what is being asked before the senior take is formed.
  • Use AI agent tools daily for research synthesis, brief analysis, competitive audits, and content scoring.
  • Build the decks, documents, and workbooks that carry strategic work to clients, to a standard that needs no rework.
  • Sit in client strategy sessions, capture what matters, and turn it into the follow-up the same week.
  • Fact-check and source-verify every claim and figure that leaves your hands.
  • Keep client context files and research current, so the next person to touch the account is not starting cold.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • 4-5 years in marketing strategy, research, or planning, ideally agency-side.
  • Demonstrable research ability: you can take an ambiguous question and come back with a structured, sourced answer.
  • Exposure to B2B or technology marketing, and a clear intent to build a career in it.
  • Strong writer who can turn analysis into a report that a client would enjoy reading.
  • Able to run several workstreams at once and hold accuracy while doing it.
  • Comfortable adopting and integrating AI tools into daily work.
  • Detail-first: you check figures, sources, and spelling before anyone else has to.
  • Genuine comfort with ambiguity and a fast-moving, remote-first environment.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Direct experience in B2B technology, channel or partner marketing, or ABM.
  • Familiarity with SEO, GEO, and content performance tooling such as Semrush, Ahrefs, or Screaming Frog.
  • Experience building competitive or content audits at scale.
  • Experience working with AI or machine learning tools and platforms.
This Role Is Not For You If...
  • You want to be handed a template and fill it in.
  • You need the brief to arrive clean before you can start thinking.
  • You default to agreement. We would rather you flag a problem early than deliver something you knew was wrong.
  • Consumer marketing is where you want to stay. B2B technology is a different language and this role is a commitment to learning it.
  • AI tools make you uncomfortable or feel like a fad. They’re central to how we work.
