Job summary

MNP, a leading Canadian professional services firm, seeks a Legal Counsel for Technology & Digital (Commercial Contracts) to support the Legal & Risk Management team in Saskatoon. You will draft, negotiate and manage a wide range of software, cloud and services agreements while mitigating risk and ensuring compliance.

You will advise on privacy, data protection and emerging tech issues, collaborating with stakeholders across the firm and outside counsel to deliver practical, scalable contracting

Qualifications

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and technology agreements.
• Experience with software licensing, cloud-based products, and professional services.
• Knowledge of IP, privacy/data protection, and emerging technologies including AI.
• Strong business judgment with risk-based advisory in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Support IT resource group and Digital practice in software procurement and digital service delivery.
• Advise on technology and digital matters, including software procurement, SaaS, and cloud engagements.
• Draft, review, and negotiate software licensing, master services, and RFP/RFI responses.
• Provide risk allocation advice for enterprise and public sector contracts.
• Advise on regulatory, privacy, and cybersecurity issues to inform decisions.
• Develop relationships with stakeholders and outside counsel.
• Develop contracting templates, playbooks and scalable processes.
• Ensure firmwide compliance and understanding of MNP’s services.
