Job summary

Canadian Tire Corporation is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst in Supply Chain Accounting to influence new initiatives, ensure proper policy, and monitor financial models across entities. You will analyze reporting outputs, investigate discrepancies, and deliver timely monthly and quarterly results with strong collaboration across FP&A, tax, auditors, and business partners.

The role requires IFRS expertise, CPA designation or equivalent degree, and at least four years in a mid-to-large company

Qualifications

• CPA designation or equivalent university degree in business, finance or accounting.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a medium/large company accounting department or accounting firm.
• IFRS expertise with ability to research and develop accounting position documents.
• Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Experience delivering timely financial reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the initial point of contact for new supply chain business initiatives.
• Ensure appropriate accounting policy decisions are made.
• Update models and reporting processes with other accounting groups.
• Monitor and update key financial models across entities.
• Develop expertise in dealer contracts and provide guidance to other teams.
• Make capital vs OPEX decisions.
• Ensure timely completion and accuracy of monthly and quarterly deliverables.
• Report variances and progress of key projects.
• Research and lead discussions on business and accounting issues.
• Identify improvements to complex models and maintain documentation.
• Monitor key controls and internal processes.
• Manage communications with business partners, FP&A, tax, and auditors.
• Participate or lead ad hoc projects as needed.
