Job summary

Tailscale is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer in Canada to bridge customer needs with our technical capabilities. You’ll onboard strategic customers, drive long-term adoption, and provide expert guidance across the product stack to ensure customers succeed with Tailscale.

You will diagnose issues, configure and integrate, conduct QBRs, and act as a trusted advisor to optimize use cases and business outcomes. Strong communication and a customer-centric mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in a technical role with 2+ years customer-facing experience.
• Experience with enterprise customers in a consultative capacity.
• Strong understanding of networking, VPNs, and security; cloud infrastructure experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role in a SaaS company.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical mindset and troubleshooting ability.
• Customer-focused with strong relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and stay organized.
• Collaborative, cross-functional teammate with product, sales, and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding for strategic customers and drive adoption.
• Provide technical support, diagnose and resolve issues across the platform.
• Conduct QBRs to review usage, metrics, and future goals.
• Advise customers and share best practices to maximize value.
• Relay customer feedback to product and engineering teams.
• Coordinate with sales, product, engineering, and support for smooth handoffs.
• Create and maintain technical docs and guides for self-service.
