Job summary

Electricity Canada seeks a Manager, Safety and Human Resources Programs to lead national OHS and HR portfolios from its Ottawa office. You will guide programs, committees and networks, driving continuous improvement and collaboration among members and external partners in a regulated, safety-conscious sector.

The role requires at least 4 years of related experience, a university degree or college diploma in safety- and HR-related fields, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma in safety- and HR-related field.
• Minimum 4 years of related experience in OHS, HR, or workforce programs.
• Experience in an association, regulated industry, utility, public-sector, or member-service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the annual OHS program work plan and translate member priorities into deliverables and timelines.
• Manage the Safety Executive Committee and supporting network to enable discussion and decision-making.
• Oversee collection, validation, analysis and reporting of safety performance and trends.
• Identify and share best practices in safety management systems and safety culture.
• Produce executive briefings, presentations and thought leadership on OHS results and opportunities for improvement.
• Lead the annual HR and workforce program work plan and align with member priorities.
• Support the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Network to drive action-oriented outcomes.
• Monitor workforce trends and policy developments affecting the electricity sector.
• Convene members and external partners to share practices and explore sector solutions.
• Organize the annual Labour Relations Symposium and related activities.
• Coordinate committee meetings, materials, minutes, and action tracking; ensure governance alignment.
