You will guide programs, committees and networks, driving continuous improvement and collaboration among members and external partners in a regulated, safety-conscious sector.
The role requires at least 4 years of related experience, a university degree or college diploma in safety- and HR-related fields, and strong communication skills.
Electricity Canada is the voice for safe, secure, and sustainable electricity. Our vision is to be the best trade association. Electricity Canada members generate, transmit, and distribute electrical energy to industrial, commercial, residential, and institutional customers across Canada. Members include integrated electric utilities, independent power producers, transmission and distribution companies, power marketers, manufacturers, and suppliers of materials, technology, and services.
This role leads two national, member-facing portfolios: occupational health and safety (OHS) and human resources (HR). This full-time position, based in Ottawa, Ontario, requires at least 4 years of related work experience and a strong knowledge of both subject areas, including OHS management systems, performance measurement approaches, and the implementation of best management practices.
The ideal candidate has a university degree or a college diploma in a safety- and human resources-related field with at least 4 years of relevant experience in OHS, HR, or workforce programs, ideally in an association, regulated industry, utility, public‑sector, or member‑service environment. In addition, the candidate will be an excellent written and oral communicator who is comfortable navigating technical, operational, policy, and industry issues. The candidate must be organized, efficient, and independent.
This position is a one‑year contract with the potential for renewal. The successful candidate will be required to work out of the downtown office at least two days a week. The pay range for this position is $73,000 to $77,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
