Job summary

Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) is seeking an Advisor in Enterprise Risk and Organizational Resiliency (temporary until December 2027). You will lead enterprise risk oversight and provide strategic advice to senior management on emerging risks, control effectiveness, and the impact of external forces on CMHC’s objectives.

You will develop and execute the Internal Control Framework (ICF) and coordinate governance, risk assessments, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in business, public administration, finance, risk management, or related field.
• At least 10 years in enterprise risk management, risk oversight, internal controls, or stakeholder engagement.
• Deep knowledge of ERM, internal control frameworks, and relevant legal/regulatory environments.
• Experience building strategic partnerships.
• Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent time management and ability to analyze large data.
• Professional designation in risk management or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent risk oversight and strategic advice to senior management on material risks, control effectiveness, and alignment with CMHC’s risk appetite and objectives.
• Identify emerging risks and translate findings into briefing materials for senior management and governance committees.
• Develop, implement and execute the Internal Control Framework (ICF) with governance, standards and roles.
• Coordinate risk assessments, control design, testing, issue management and remediation tracking.
• Drive continuous improvement of the ICF, incorporating lessons and regulatory expectations.
• Lead risk oversight for major initiatives and significant change, identifying gaps and interdependencies.
