Job summary

The University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine seeks a senior advisor for the Research Office to support researchers in developing proposals, budget planning, and resource justification for external funding. The role aims to strengthen faculty visibility and success in securing competitive grants.

You will work with Research Management Services to identify funding opportunities, coordinate interfaculty initiatives, and streamline processes through robust project management and stakeholder

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum five years of demonstrated experience in a similar role.
• Experience drafting research project funding requests or managing international research agreements.

Responsibilities

• Advisory Services and Research Support: Provide researchers with expert advice on developing projects, budgeting, and resource planning to secure high-quality funding requests.
• Researching Opportunities and Networking: Identify funding opportunities and liaise with faculty and external partners to promote interfaculty collaborations.
• Operations: Interpret funding agency requirements and improve internal processes for efficiency.
• Liaison and Guidance: Coordinate with researchers and granting agencies to ensure clarity and timely information.
• Research Promotion: Collaborate to raise visibility of faculty research and award applications.
• Reports: Gather data and trends to guide strategic planning and decision making.
• Special Project Management: Plan and manage targeted projects with clear scopes and milestones.
