Job summary

YVR, Vancouver Airport Authority, seeks a Manager, Real Estate Development to lead major development projects across 1,200 acres of commercial land, including cargo facilities, warehouses, and offices on Sea Island. The role reports to the Director, Real Estate Development and is an acting one-year assignment.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience leading real estate development projects valued at $50M or more, with construction project management, procurement, design and construction experience.
• At least three years of supervisory or people management experience.
• Working knowledge of building codes, construction safety guidelines, contract law and procurement.
• Holistic project management skills with multi-year, multi-disciplinary construction projects.
• Financial acumen related to proformas and cost controls; professional credentials are assets.

Responsibilities

• Managing and executing real estate development plans for a portfolio of projects with varying size and complexity.
• Planning and overseeing procurement of consultants for due diligence on brown and green field sites.
• Overseeing procurement and contract negotiations for professionals, consultants, and contractors.
• Managing, planning, coordinating, and directing the Project Management department.
• Acting as subject matter expert on construction project execution.
