Job Purpose

Reporting to the Strategic Sourcing Manager, Transportation, the individual will evaluate the North American transportation network to identify efficiencies that reduce costs and enhance operational excellence. The role involves analyzing large data sets, interacting with stakeholders, negotiating agreements, and managing sourcing activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead RFP/RFQ processes, including contracting, implementation, and compliance
  • Research and implement process improvements
  • Vetting of new carriers
  • Manage monthly spend and savings reporting
  • Reduce non-core freight vendors through analysis
  • Address logistics requirements as they arise
  • Implement routing changes with operational support
  • Carrier scorecard management
  • Support QBRs with qualitative and quantitative data
  • Manage carrier performance (on-time shipping, claims, AR)
  • Oversee Carrier Safety Program performance
  • Claims monitoring
  • Update relevant systems (rate tariffs, certificates, operating authorities)
  • Handle rate disputes and AP issues
  • Lead carrier contract negotiations as needed
Minimum Requirements
Education & Certificates
  • Post-secondary education in a related field
  • Progress towards or completion of CITT, PLog, or SCMP
Technical Skills & Experience
  • Strategic thinking and negotiation skills
  • 3-5 years in transportation or logistics
  • Experience in presenting ideas to management
  • Proficiency in Excel, Pivot Tables, Charts, Macros
  • Experience managing multiple shipping locations in North America
  • Supplier management experience (preferred)
  • Experience with SAP (preferred)
  • TMS experience (preferred)
