Job summary

Black & McDonald Limited is seeking a Buyer for our Power Generation team in Pickering. The role focuses on sourcing, purchasing general equipment and services, and providing administrative support across sourcing, estimating, and field staff activities.

You will issue purchase orders, coordinate with Quality, Accounting and Project teams, and help manage vendor performance within a nuclear EPC environment.

Qualifications

• Proven understanding of procurement and contract administration process.
• Strong communication, organization, analytical, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Secure quotes for materials, equipment or services from suppliers for estimating during the bid process.
• Review discount structures with key vendors.
• Identify and source materials, equipment or services based on cost, quality and delivery requirements.
• Prepare purchase orders to fulfill project or maintenance requirements.
• Place orders to provide best-delivered cost and establish supplier contracts.
• Monitor and close out vendor purchase orders as needed.
• Review and process returns, claims and other supplier issues.
• Collaborate with Quality, Accounting, Project Management and Site Management.
