Job summary

Penta Search Group has partnered with a leading international medical technology organization to appoint a PMO Director in the Vancouver area, British Columbia. This senior role oversees a diverse hardware product development portfolio and shapes the program management function to enable growth.

The successful candidate will lead a team of seven Program Managers, partner with engineering, manufacturing and regulatory teams, and report to executive leadership on strategy, delivery and performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or related technical discipline required.
• At least 10 years hardware product development experience including 5+ years in program management.
• 3+ years of direct leadership for Program/Project Managers.
• Experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary product development from concept to commercialization.
• Strong understanding of engineering development, product validation, and manufacturing integration.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities, budgets, resources and schedules.
• Experience building or improving program management frameworks and governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational oversight of multiple hardware development programs from concept through commercialization.
• Direct portfolio planning, budgeting, scheduling and resource allocation.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Product, Manufacturing, Quality and Regulatory teams to align priorities.
• Ensure programs meet performance, quality, cost and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and mitigate technical, operational and commercial risks.
• Evolve program management methodologies and governance; implement scalable processes and tools.
• Lead program reviews, reporting and escalation for timely decisions.
• Strengthen capacity planning and cross-functional collaboration across the portfolio.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce delays and improve development productivity.
• Lead, mentor and develop seven Program Managers and drive accountability.
