Job summary

Canada Life is seeking an Associate Manager, Communications – Media Relations to support external communications plans and media relations across Canada Life’s products, services and community initiatives. The role reports to the AVP, Communications, Media and Stakeholder Relations and involves cross-team collaboration, issues management, and thought leadership activities.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of communications experience.
• Strong writing, editing, and planning skills.
• Experience supporting media relations and public announcements.
• Solid project management, coordinating stakeholders and deadlines.
• Strong relationship-building and collaboration across teams and locations.
• Sound judgment with handling sensitive matters.
• Highly organized with attention to detail.
• French and English bilingual a strong asset.
• Understanding of Quebec media landscape is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with business and Community Relations partners to support objectives.
• Develop opportunities to generate earned media and promote Canada Life’s expertise.
• Monitor issues and reputational risks and contribute to strategies and responses.
• Coordinate media relations activities: inquiries, interviews, releases, announcements, thought leadership.
• Collaborate to ensure consistent messaging across channels.
• Share knowledge and support team priorities in a high-performing culture.
