Job summary

Porter Engineered Systems - A Division of Pangeo Group seeks an experienced finance leader to establish and expand controllership across multiple divisions in a manufacturing environment.

You will own the monthly close, reporting, and cost accounting, then scale processes and the finance team as new divisions are added. The role focuses on cash discipline, policy governance, and cross-functional collaboration with plant leadership.

Qualifications

• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 4 years in a controllership or senior finance leadership role.
• Proven experience in manufacturing finance: job-shop/tooling and/or mass production environments.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, variance analysis, and working capital management.
• Experience leading a monthly close, management reporting, and audit readiness.
• Skilled in ERP and BI systems; comfortable improving processes and adopting automation.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of training and developing teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a fast, reliable monthly close and management pack across divisions.
• Provide reporting that explains results, bridges variances, and connects finance with operations.
• Lead audits, statutory filings, and stakeholder reporting.
• Own cost accounting for tooling and production; build margin and variance bridges.
• Track trends and feed lessons back into standards and forecasting.
• Improve receivables, payables, and inventory discipline; manage cash flow.
• Set and maintain accounting policies; ensure GAAP/IFRS compliance.
• Build and train a finance team as scope expands.
